All participants in JOBS have mentors! A mentor builds relationships to further engage the moms and young women not only in their job training/seeking process, but life in general. Being a working mom and young women is much more than just holding down a job. We seek to be all-encompassing in teaching moms and young women how to not only succeed in the workplace, but to do their best at parenting and life as well. Neither of these is an easy task, but a listening, helping friend along the way is invaluable.
Mentors assist with goal setting, educational planning, overcoming transportation and childcare obstacles, financial budgeting, and job seeking and keeping! Once employed, mentors seek to meet the employer and offer their assistance should any employment issues arise. Our goal is to have our moms and young women keep their jobs, improve upon their employment, and become self-sustaining.
